
Actor Gautami stresses on the importance of early detection and treatment to conquer the disease.
City-based Rohit Memorial Trust, in association with the Round Table Ladies Circle India, is organising ‘Pink Sakhi Saree Walk’ to create awareness over breast cancer on February 16, at the Beach Road. The event will start at 6 a.m.
In this regard, actor, social worker & founder of Life Again Foundation, Ms Gautami Tadimalla, who is going to be the special guest for the programme, took part in a media interaction, here on Saturday. She was accompanied by actor Shilpa Chakraborthy, Commissioner of Police Shankabratha Bagchi and others.
Speaking to the media, being a cancer survivor, Ms. Gautami spoke about the importance of early detection and treatment to conquer the disease. She also stressed on the importance of a positive attitude during treatment.
Chairman, Alwardas Group of Educational Institutions, S.P. Ravindra, who is also a cancer survivor, said it was important to fight the disease with a positive approach.
The organisers said that the event celebrates International Cancer Month and spreads awareness on Women’s Cancers. They also announced that Mayor G. Hari Venkata Kumari will attend the event as the chief guest, and the programme is being supported by the Health Department.
