Actress Rashmika Mandanna, who is currently basking in the success of her latest film Chhaava, has sparked controversy with a recent comment. While promoting the film in Bollywood, Rashmika stated, “I am from Hyderabad. I have come alone, and today I hope I am a part of all your family.”
The remark has not been well-received by her Kannada fans, who voiced their disappointment on social media. Many felt that despite beginning her career in Kannada cinema, Rashmika was distancing herself from her roots in favor of appealing to Telugu audiences. While she has delivered several hits in Telugu, her statement about being from Hyderabad has drawn criticism, especially as she is believed to have shifted her base there.
Some fans reminded her to honor her origins, while others defended her, noting that her current residence in Hyderabad may have influenced her comment. Rashmika made her debut in Kannada cinema and acted in five Kannada films before focusing on Telugu and Bollywood projects.
On the work front, she is set to release Kubera and The Girlfriend in Telugu, following the success of her recent film Pushpa: The Rule.
