Visakhapatnam Co-operative Bank celebrates 109 years of service


The Visakhapatnam Co-operative Bank celebrated its 109 years of journey, here on Saturday, in a meeting presided over by the bank chairman Chalasani Raghavendra Rao, and also celebrated the International Cooperative Year as declared by the UN Assembly.

The meeting was attended by Lakshmi Das, Chairperson, National Federation for Cooperative Urban Banks, among others.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the speakers congratulated the bank and its team for having achieved the success. Manam Anjaneyulu, former chairman of the bank, said that cooperation is a way of life and is much essential for the survival of the mankind. He said that all the stakeholders should understand the philosophy of cooperation and such understanding will help the lower strata of the society in improving their livelihood.

Mr. Raghavendra Rao said that as on this date the bank is strictly adhering to the principles of cooperation in true spirit and added that under the ablest guidance of Mr. Anjaneyulu, the bank would strive hard to cater the needs of the poor. He said that such events like celebrating international Cooperative year will be done through out the year 2025 and will strive to propagate the spirit of cooperation amongst the youth believed to be the future of the country.
