Warangal: A speeding lorry crashed into an RTC bus and then rammed into a nearby pan shop at Palakurthy in Jangaon district on Sunday. The bus, travelling from Thorrur to Hyderabad with 11 passengers, was struck by a lorry heading from Nalgonda to Hanamkonda when the vehicle lost control.
The high-speed collision damaged several vehicles parked in front of the pan shop, which was fortunately closed at the time, preventing further casualties. Six passengers from the bus sustained minor injuries and were promptly taken to nearby hospitals.
Local residents reported the incident, prompting police to rush to the scene. Using a JCB, authorities extricated the lorry from the pan shop area. The police have registered a case and taken the lorry driver into custody as the investigation continues.
