Canopies are being set up on both the eastern and western stands of the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad for the comfort of fans.

For cricket enthusiasts in Telangana, especially in the twin cities, this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) promises more than just the excitement of Sunrisers Hyderabad’s home games. Hyderabad is set to host not only the Sunrisers’ first home clash against Rajasthan Royals on March 23 but also the high-stakes Qualifier 1 and Eliminator on May 20 and 21 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium at Uppal. Adding to the thrill, the stadium is spruced up and ready to welcome fans for an unforgettable season of cricketing action.
The entire seating has been replaced, and fans can now enjoy the comfort of canopies on both the eastern and western stands, a welcome change from the past when they had to endure extreme heat waves.
To ensure a pleasant experience inside and around the stadium, Hyderabad Cricket Association president A.Jaganmohan Rao and the Apex Council members are meticulously overseeing all arrangements, from providing drinking water to ensuring smooth entry into the stands. “We are determined to ensure that Hyderabad will be rated as the best host in all aspects in organising the IPL games,” said Mr.Jaganmohan Rao.
As always, a dedicated ground staff led by BCCI curator Y.L. Chandrasekhar, a past recipient of the best curator award, along with Mukesh Kumar, will be on hand to prepare top-notch pitches for the IPL.
Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals, playing their home games in Visakhapatnam and Delhi, will face off against Lucknow Super Giants in their season opener on March 24 in Visakhapatnam.
