Hyderabad: The BRS organised various programmes on the occasion of former chief minister and party supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao‘s 71st birthday on Monday.
Celebrations were held at several places, including party headquarters Telangana Bhavan. BRS working president KT Rama Rao, ex-ministers T Harish Rao, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Mohd Mahmood Ali, V Srinivas Goud and others participated in the programme at Telangana Bhavan where a cake was cut.
The leaders showered praise on KCR, describing him as a fatherly figure for Telangana who achieved statehood by taking up the fight for 14 years. They said that Telangana became a model state in the country in various sectors only because of his effort.
KTR and Kavitha later met KCR at his farmhouse and took his blessings. Thousands of party workers and leaders from various parts of the state also met him at the farmhouse. A special yagam was also performed for his well-being at the farmhouse. Ex-minister Vemula Prashant Reddy and Juluru Gowri Shankar presented him with books on Telangana, highlighting how the state transformed and stood No. 1 in various aspects during BRS tenure.
