The tender, for construction of the office of the General Manager of South Coast Railway (S Co R) in Visakhapatnam city, is ‘under finalisation’ according to a reply received under the Right To Information (RTI) Act by K. Eswar on Monday (February 17).
It may be recalled that the Prime Minister had laid the foundation for construction of the office, after a long delay, on January 8.
Prior to that, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) Headquarters, in Bhubaneswar invited e-tenders, towards the end of November 2024, for construction of the General Manager’s office complex and other associated works in Visakhapatnam. The closing date for tenders was December 27, 2024.
The office complex will have two basement floors, a ground floor and nine floors, to be constructed at an estimated cost of ₹149.16 crore.
