Chief of Hyderabad Disaster Response & Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) A.V. Ranganath cautioned people against purchasing ‘farm plots’, during the Prajavani programme held on Monday.
Complaints were received at the grievance redressal programme about sale of plotted farmland against the existing rules. Layouts cannot be developed without authorisation in the farmlands, as per the Telangana Municipalities Act, 2019 and the Telangana Panchayat Raj Act, 2018, Mr. Ranganath said, citing several instances where layouts are being made and sold on the city fringes. Farm land should be a minimum of 2,000 square metres or 20 guntas of land, he clarified. Complainants brought to his notice, an instance of illegal sale of ‘farm plots’ at Lakshmiguda village in Rajendranagar mandal.
HYDRAA received a total 64 complaints during Prajavani, pertaining to blocking of roads, encroachment of parks and other open spaces.
