Andhra Pradesh Girijan Cooperative Corporation, popularly known as GCC, is participating in the ‘Aadi Mahotsav 2025’, the annual tribal festival, which was inaugurated by President Droupadi Murmu in New Delhi on February 16.
A total of 16 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras (VDVKs) from Andhra Pradesh showcased their locally-made products, handcrafts and indigenous art, highlighting the creativity and skill of the tribal artisans at the ongoing festival. The stalls displayed an array of tribal crafts, jute bags, savara paintings, food products and other unique items, all of which caught the attention of visitors.
The GCC presented its unique range of tribal products, with special emphasis on Araku Valley Coffee, a product of immense significance and a symbol of the hard work and dedication of the tribal farmers in the Araku Valley, according to a statement issued by G. Sandhya Rani, General Manager (Adm), here on Tuesday.
VC and MD of GCC, Kalpana Kumari, who attended as the head of the state-implementing agency for the VDVK s, said it was a proud moment for the GCC to bring the voices and creations of the tribes under one roof and showcase their incredible contributions to India’s rich cultural diversity.
She also emphasised the positive economic impact of the event, noting that the tribals were receiving fair prices for their products, further ensuring their economic independence.
The Aadi Mahotsav serves as a reminder of the importance of preserving and celebrating the traditional craftsmanship of India’s indigenous communities, while also providing them with the economic opportunities they rightfully deserve.
The festival will continue till February 24, with tribes from all over India participating, making it a truly significant event for the nation.
