Hyderabad: In a significant development, the state govt has appointed the Telangana Planning Development Society Advisory Committee, with deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka serving as the chairperson. The committee comprises eight members, including Magsaysay Award winner Shanta Sinha and Professor Kancha Ilaiah.
An initial meeting with committee members, held on Tuesday, was attended by Bhatti. The primary objectives of the advisory committee include planning for disaster management, analysing the impact of climate change, assessing economic and social disparities, and conducting research, development analyses, and pilot projects.
The govt hopes that the committee’s work will aid both short-term and long-term planning in the state.
The other members of the committee include Professor Himanshu, Professor Sukhadeo Thorat, social activist Nikhil Dey, Praveen Chakravarty, Professor Bhukya, and Professor Purushotham Reddy.
