Hyderabad: The state govt has extended the term of the one-man commission on Scheduled Caste sub-categorisation led by retired judge of Telangana high court Justice Shameem Akthar until March 10.
The commission had submitted its report to the govt about 10 days ago, recommending the division of 59 SC categories into Group I, II, and III.
However, the Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) expressed displeasure over the sub-categorisation. They argued that some Madiga castes were placed in the developed group, while Malas were in the most backward group. MRPS leader Manda Krishna Madiga, who met CM A Revanth Reddy earlier, demanded categorisation of all the SCs into A, B, C, and D instead of three groups.
The MRPS is likely to give a fresh representation to the commission.
