Headmistress suspended for allowing KCR’s birthday celebrations in Hyderabad school

Hyderabad: A government school headmistress has been suspended by the School Education Department for the birthday celebrations of the first Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandrashekhar Rao hosted in the school premises on Monday.

According to proceedings issued by Rangareddy district DEO Suseendra Rao, Rajitha, incharge headmistress of MPP School in Nandanavanam Colony, Hastinapur, Saroornagar, allowed the school premises to be used for birthday celebrations of a political leader, involving a former Corporator with participation of students, on Monday.


This, as per the DEO, was a violation of Telangana Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 1964 and guidelines set by the Education Department.

Citing the violation and CCA rules, the school education department placed Rajitha under suspension with immediate effect. During the suspension period, she would not leave the headquarters without prior permission and would be entitled only to subsistence allowance as per rules, the proceedings read.
