Inquiry intoVizag land record tampering on Feb 22 | Vijayawada News

Visakhapatnam: The district administration decided to conduct an in-depth inquiry into the tampering of valuable land records in the Visakha rural mandal, including Madhurawada, Paradesipalem, Kommadi, and other areas where records of around 40 acres of land were tampered with. The current price of those lands would be more than 700 crore.
The inquiry will be conducted against the persons facing allegations of tampering by the joint collector on Feb 22. Notices were served to seven officers, who were allegedly involved in the tampering of records, to attend the joint collector’s inquiry.
According to reports, the tampering of records took place between 2004 and 2007. Higher officials took departmental action against a few tahesildars (MROs) and surveyors. Many victims submitted memorandums about those lands in the grievances. Around seven employees escaped from the action.
In 2011, revenue officials conducted an inquiry. However, the report was not disclosed.
This apart, tampering of records were also alleged in other villages, including Mudasarlova. Now, govt authorities are delving deep into the tampering of records issue to take action against those repsonsible.
The officials identified that a few employees intentionally did not submit the affidavit to the court to benefit private persons with valuable lands.
Meanwhile, revenue sources said that the former revenue special chief secretary, Sai Prasad, had given orders to conduct inquiry over the tampering of records of Madhurawada survey numbers 367, 368, and others.
