A video of two students performing stunts in luxury SUVs in the middle of the outer ring road in Hyderabad has gone viral on social media, raising road safety concerns.
A footage from February 9, which is now circulating on social media, shows a Fortuner going around in circles in the middle lane of the five-lane road, while a BMW drives to the side after doing the same stunt.
A police officer from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) said that drivers of the vehicles had removed the number plates during the stunts to avoid being identified. The police, however, tracked them down with the help of CCTV footage as their faces were visible on surveillance cameras. The officer said that police have arrested the accused and seized the luxury cars.
The accused have been identified as Mohammed Obaidullah (25), a resident of Rajendranagar, and Zohair Siddiqui (25), a resident of Malakpet.
“Obaidullah and Siddiqui were doing stunts in two different cars on the ORR (Outer Ring Road) Shamshabad. The act was captured on the closed-circuit cameras installed on the ORR stretch,” the officer said.
