Vijayapura: The North Karnataka region is experiencing a steady rise in temperatures, with Kallur hobli in Raichur district recording the highest maximum temperature of 39.8 degree celsius in the state over the past 24 hours, according to the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC).
Several parts of Raichur and Vijayapura districts reported soaring temperatures, ranging between 39.1 degree and 39.8 degree. In Raichur district, three locations recorded temperatures exceeding 39 degrees—Kallur hobli (39.8), Hadganhal hobli (39), and Huda hobli (39)—while Chadchan in Vijayapura district registered 39.1 degrees.
According to the KSNDMC, maximum temperatures were 1.6 to 3 degrees above normal in most parts of North Interior Karnataka and several areas in South Interior Karnataka, while the rest of the state recorded near-normal temperatures.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted that North Interior Karnataka is expected to experience temperatures 2-4 degree above normal, while Coastal and South Interior Karnataka may see an increase of 2-3 degree.
