A Blend of Heritage and Modernity in May 2025

India will host the 72nd Miss World from 7 to 31 May 2025, across various destinations in Telangana, a state blending rich heritage with modern vibrancy. As India’s youngest state, Telangana has made remarkable progress since its formation, gaining a reputation for safety, tourist friendliness, and a thriving international ecosystem. This makes it an ideal destination for both domestic and global visitors.

The official announcement was made by Julia Morley CBE and Ms. Smita Sabharwal, Secretary to the Government of Telangana’s Tourism, Culture, Heritage, and Youth Affairs Department.

Julia expressed her excitement, stating: “We are delighted to bring the 72nd Miss World Festival to Telangana, a state that beautifully represents its rich culture, innovation, and hospitality. Partnering with the Telangana government allows us to showcase its incredible heritage and dynamic growth to a global audience.”

Following the success of the 71st Miss World, held in New Delhi and Mumbai, the festival moves to Telangana — where tradition meets innovation, and beauty is celebrated in all forms. Miss World continues to be the most recognized and longest-running beauty festival, championing diverse representations of beauty with a purpose, while promoting humanitarian causes worldwide.

Ms. Sabharwal welcomed the Miss World Organization, stating, “Telangana is proud to announce that it will be hosting the 72nd Miss World, welcoming the world to witness a land where beauty is not just what meets the eye; it is what resonates with its land, people, culture, and traditions.”

The opening and closing ceremonies, including the grand finale, will be held in Hyderabad.
