Vicky Kaushl’s Chhaava seems to be pulling Bollywood back in the run in 2025 while being on track to become the industry’s first blockbuster of the year. The historical action drama, starring popular faces Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, is basking in the light of a strong theatrical run, surpassing major financial milestones.

The film, directed by Laxman Utekar, had an impressive opening weekend and earned a total of Rs 12 crore on day 5, the lowest till now. According to media reports, Chhaava collected Rs 24 crore nett on Monday, a 50.52% decline from its Rs 48.5 crore earnings on Sunday. However, despite the drop, the film’s first Monday performance far exceeded that of any other Hindi release this year.

With its domestic earnings now standing at Rs 140.5 crore and a global gross of Rs 164.75 crore, Chhaava has already surpassed its reported production budget of Rs 130 crore. The film is the first major Hindi release of 2025 to break even so swiftly, solidifying its commercial success. Throughout Monday, Chhaava maintained a stronghold at the box office with an overall occupancy rate of 31.62% in the Hindi market. Morning shows began at 17.80%, followed by steady increases to 27.11% in the afternoon, 34.12% in the evening, and a peak of 47.46% during night screenings.

The film also marks Rashmika Mandanna’s fourth consecutive theatrical hit after Varisu (2023), Animal (2023), and Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024).
