Telangana is set to take centre stage on the global beauty map as it gears up to host the 72nd Miss World pageant this year. The official announcement was made by Julia Morley, chairperson and CEO of Miss World Limited, along with Smita Sabharwal, Secretary to the Government of Telangana, Tourism, Culture, Heritage and Youth Affairs Department.
The pageant will begin on May 4 and be spread over 28 days with the grand opening and closing ceremonies scheduled to be held in Hyderabad. The itinerary includes other destinations in the State as well, according to information posted on the Miss World Organisation website.
Citing Telangana’s reputation for safety, hospitality, and a thriving international ecosystem, the Miss World Organisation hailed the state as an ideal destination for both local and global visitors. Contestants will arrive on May 4, with the grand finale set for May 31, where reigning Miss World Krystyna Pyszková will crown her successor.

Meanwhile, Ms. Sabharwal, underscored that the event would showcase Telangana’s handlooms, art forms, tourist destinations, and cuisine.
