Advocates conference on Feb. 23 to demand HC Bench in Vizag

An advocates conference will be held on the District Court premises here on February 23 to press for a Bench of the High Court in Visakhapatnam.

Advocates from the districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Parvathipuram Manyam, Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli, Alluri Sitharama Raju (ASR) District and Kakinada would participate in the seminar, according to Visakhapatnam Bar Association president Bevara Satyanarayana.

The demand for an HC Bench in Visakhapatnam began in 1993, and about 43% of the cases pending in the HC pertain to this region. Mr. Satyanarayana also demanded establishment of a Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) in Visakhapatnam.
