Hyderabad: Union minister of state for home affairs Bandi Sanjay on Thursday dared Congress govt for an open debate to let the people know what support Centre had given to each village in Telangana. Addressing a press conference in the city, he said, “Argument that Telangana was wronged in the central budget is a blatant lie. This time, we have allocated 1.08 lakh crore to Telangana in the form of taxes and schemes. But Congress leaders are like those who cannot see or hear,” he said.
He slammed Congress leaders, saying that they are spreading false propaganda against the Centre to divert public attention from their failure to implement the six guarantees they promised. He said that Congress is following the same path as BRS. He mentioned that funds have increased by 10% compared to the previous year.
Bandi alleged that as part of a covert agreement, KCR did not field candidates in the MLC elections to favour Congress. He questioned the justice in promising 42% reservations for BCs and allocating 10% of that to minorities. He also questioned how there can be 3.95 crore Aadhaar cards when the population is 3.7 crore.
The Union minister asserted that both the BRS and Congress administrations have neglected to protect the water rights of Telangana, resulting in the present scarcity. He slammed them for their negligence and alleged political agendas that have adversely affected the farmers and people of North Telangana.
“The ongoing Krishna water dispute has been a persistent challenge between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, with issues surrounding water allocation significantly influencing irrigation and drinking water availability. Leaders of the BJP have called for an equitable distribution of Krishna river water,” he said.
