Hyderabad: HYDRAA has begun training 357 recruits for its Disaster Response Force (DRF) teams. The recruits, who have been outsourced, will undergo a week-long training programme at the Amberpet Police Training Centre.
HYDRAA commissioner A.V. Ranganath, speaking at the inauguration of the programme, said that DRF teams play a crucial role in city’s disaster management efforts. He stated that HYDRAA must function in line with government goals and public expectations, and urged all recruits to remain vigilant and dedicated to their duties.
“HYDRAA’s responsibilities have expanded, with the government recently entrusting it with controlling illegal sand transportation”, Ranganath said.
He explained that candidates were selected based on a merit-based process. He said many of them had appeared for police exams but missed out on selection by a few marks, and considering social factors, these candidates were given an opportunity in DRF.
Ranganath noted the high competition for jobs and advised recruits to make the most of this opportunity by demonstrating their skills. He assured them that hard work and commitment would open doors to better opportunities in the future.
