A lecture on ‘Coming together for dissemination of knowledge’ was organised jointly by Centre of Policy Studies and Visakhapatnam Public Library, at the library premises, here on Thursday.
Visakhapatnam MP Mathukumalli Sribharat, who participated as chief guest, said that self-discipline and perseverance were essential for success. A. Prasanna Kumar, Director of Centre for Policy Studies, highlighted cultural values of Visakhapatnam city. He also explained the need to protect the democratic values and told students to read good books and enrich their knowledge.
D.S. Varma, secretary and K.V. Gupta, treasurer of Visakhapatnam Public Library, welcomed the gathering. On this occasion, Mr. Varma accompanied Mr. Sribharat and displayed the facilities at the Visakhapatnam Public Library. The MP participated in a children storytelling programme in Miyawaki (children section) facilitated by Seeta Srinivas.
Mr. Sribharat interacted with the students in the library and asked the students about their preparation and gave tips to the job aspirants on how to study with more focus and a sense of direction. He appreciated the Visakhapatnam Public Library management for maintaining the library so well and rendering services to the career aspirants and general readers by providing an able study environment.
He interacted with the students and encouraged them to ask questions. He emphasised on improving their skills, learning new skills and making consistent efforts to stay updated.
