Vijayawada: The special court for Pocso Act cases in Vijayawada on Thursday sentenced two youngsters to rigorous life imprisonment till death for kidnapping and raping a 14-year-old girl in 2022. The judge of the Pocso court V Bhavani convicted Sirigiri Chandrasekhar (24) alias Sai and Anuraj Prakash (23) alias Srinu, both residents of Vijayawada city in the case. The court slapped a fine of 32,000 on Sai and 20,000 on Prakash. NTR commissionerate police said the survivor lived at her grand father’s house after the demise of her parents. She was a class VIII student when she had met Chandrasekhar.
In May 2022, Chandrasekhar lured the girl, took her to a room and sexually assaulted her. Later, he sought sexual favours from her by blackmailing and threatening to leak her private pictures.
On another instance, Chandrasekhar took the girl to a room, where Prakash and another juvenile, raped her.
