Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader and former IPS officer R.S. Praveen Kumar has alleged that the Congress is governing the State with vengeance as its focus after promising six guarantees and democratic rule as the seventh guarantee.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, he alleged that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had made the police register a false case against senior party leader T. Harish Rao with the help of one Chakradhar, a criminal and a habitual offender. He accused the Chief Minister of planning to implicate Mr. Rao in a case one way or the other as the latter had been questioning the government repeatedly on its promises.

He stated that Chakradhar was facing several charges, including sexual assault, cheating about 1,900 youth in the name of providing them jobs and kidnap.

Mr. Praveen Kumar also alleged that the police were kowtowing to the Chief Minister and in their bid to please him, they were forcing some individuals to lodge complaints against Mr. Rao. Citing an example, he alleged that a DCP had tortured one Vamsi, who worked with Mr. Rao for a brief period of three months when he was a minister, badly to take the name of Mr. Rao in a false case.

The had also foisted cases against BRS leaders Padi Kaushik Reddy and Errolla Srinivas, while cases were not being registered on the complaints being made by BRS leaders including on the attack on Mr. Kaushik Reddy’s residence by Serilingampally MLA Arekapudi Gandhi and his accomplices.

No case was also booked against Mynampally Hanumantha Rao even after his open statement in Siddipet that he would kill Mr. Harish Rao by dousing him with petrol. He demanded that the government increase police protection for Mr. Harish Rao, in the wake of such threats and cautioned the police officers against going beyond their call of duty.
