Hyderabad: A 41-year-old man who sexually assaulted his minor daughter has been sentenced to seven years rigorous imprisonment by a Kamareddy court.
In the judgment passed on Wednesday, the First Additional District Judge also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on the convict, Jerrippothula Devaraju.
According to Kamareddy district SP Sindhu Sharma, on Jan 14, 2024, when the 15-year-old survivor was playing outside her house, Devaraju asked her to come inside and sexually assaulted her. There was no one in the house at that time. When her mother came home from the market, the girl told her what her father had done. The mother went to the Bibipet police station and lodged a complaint.
The police registered a case under the Pocso Act and investigated the case. They submitted evidence and medical reports to the court as part of their investigation.
