Mystery over trio electrocuted in Nizamabad

NIZAMABAD: Police and officials from the Telangana State Northern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGNPDCL), have begun a detailed inquiry into the electrocution of three members of a family, identified as Orsu Gangaram, Orsu Balamani, and their son Orsu Kishan, in an agricultural field at Pegadapally village, Bodhan mandal, on Thursday.

According to the victims’ relatives, the three had ventured into the fields to hunt wild boars. However, some locals allege that they were trying to steal cable wires from submersible pumps. All three hailed from Satapur village in Renjal mandal, where they reportedly raised pigs for their livelihood.

Police sources say that Kishan had a history of cable theft cases, prompting suspicions that he, along with his parents, may have gone to the fields to steal wires. Upon inspecting the scene, TGNPDCL officials discovered a stick with a knife attached, suggesting an attempt to cut the live cables. The victims are believed to have died on the spot while trying to free each other after coming into contact with the live wires.
