
IITH and Marvell will collaborate to offer joint courses, hands-on training, and research initiative.

Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) and American company Marvell Technology, Inc., a leader in data infrastructure semiconductor solutions, inaugurated the Marvell® Data Acceleration and Offload Research Facility at IITH on Friday (February 21).
A first-of-its-kind facility, it offers students, researchers, and industry professionals’ access to Marvell technologies. These include Data Processor Units (DPUs), Switches, Compute Express Link (CXL) Processors, and Network Interface controllers (NICs), all of which are essential for accelerating Data security, Movement, Management, and processing across AI clusters, Cloud environments and Networks.
Through this collaboration, IITH and Marvell will offer joint courses, hands-on training, and research initiatives. Officials said plans will also include hosting specialised workshops, conferences, and training sessions to foster innovation and empower future tech leaders in developing solutions for the evolving landscape of data infrastructure.
According to Senior Vice President at Marvell, Cary Ussery, the partnership exemplifies the impact of academia-industry collaboration. By providing access to cutting-edge technologies, the initiative accelerates advancements in AI, Networking, and Storage, empowering the next generation of tech leaders to drive breakthroughs in data infrastructure.
Director (IITH) B.S. Murty said the partnership aligns with the institute’s commitment to advancing technological research and education, positioning the institute at the forefront of accelerated infrastructure development.
