Another quick Solo Italian Tune Up with the Mini. Both the car and I badly needed a run today. Father was originally supposed to accompany me but he decided against.
The best thing for such impromptu plans (from my perspective) is to use NICE and do the Mysore Tolled Highway, choose a good place for Breakfast (this time it was Aroha on the Mysore Ring Road near URS Kar Tata Motors) and then drive back.
If anyone here hasn’t tried Aroha please do so. The food is very good and it is a clean restaurant. The staff are very polite.
Today was a solid 340 odd kms spin. Left at 7…back at 1145. Because on the way out I was enjoying my Cooper’s Growl so much that I forgot the Mysore exit.
So then I went all the way to the Tumkur road exit, did a U Turn and came back to the Mysore Road exit from the other side. No matter really. The extra 30 odd kms was fun.
The Tollway was good. The Traffic was fine except for the following. A Baleno was straddling two lanes on the way back and he moved aside to my blip on the horn. A white Innova with many White Clad Men inside was doing probably 140-150kmph because he overtook me and left me standing. (I had my Cruise Control at 101kmph.) And then weaved in and out a bit and then braked very hard because he suddenly spotted the overhead cameras!
A pleasant sight were two well kept KL registered Zens. One was probably running low profile tyres and maybe lowered springs. The other has bigger and wider tyres. Both seemed to have Free Flowing Exhausts and maybe Headers. A good treat to see those two.
I took a few photos of the relatively empty roads with my phone on a suction mount. Asked siri to take the photos but some are blurry. But the day being hot, the phone mount and phone fell into the car with a frightful clatter. And the ears of the mount broke. So thats been ‘binned’. The poor phone protective glass has a crack so that needs to be changed now.
Every chance I get to take a joyride, I leap at it and this car is like a faithful pony, just champing at the bit and raring to go!
