
A differently-abled candidate is checked thoroughly ahead of entering an Group-II examination centre, in Tirupati on Sunday.

The Group-II Mains examination, conducted by Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC), was held peacefully in Tirupati district on Sunday.
The exams were conducted in two sessions — from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. — in 13 centres across Tirupati, for which 5,801 candidates had enrolled. The morning session was attended by 5,055 candidates, taking the attendance percentage to 87.14, while the afternoon session saw the participation of 5,046 (86.99%).
Collector S. Venkateswar said that the question papers were shifted to the respective examination centres amid tight security from the strong rooms, while the candidates were thoroughly checked before being admitted to take the test. He also made surprise visits to a few centres to check the facilities extended to the candidates.
Meanwhile, the examination was conducted peacefully in SPSR Nellore district on Sunday. Of the 4,102 candidates enrolled for the test, 3548 attended in the morning session, taking the attendance turnout to 86.5 per cent. Similarly, 3546 (86.4%) took the test in the afternoon session.
On the other hand, the Group-II examination was conducted in 13 centres in Kadapa district on Sunday. Of the 5,825 candidates enrolled for the test, 5,111 (87.74%) attended the morning session, while 5,096 (87.48%) took the test during the afternoon session.
