So, I decided to embark on the noble path of DIY chain cleaning. My first attempt was with a roller-type stand. A handy little thing – perfect for touring since it fits in a bag, but it also comes with a bonus feature: the roller stand demands ‘helping hands,’ and since I’m not running a motorcycle pit crew at home, this was less ‘DIY’ and more ‘somebody please help me before I flip this bike.’ That’s when I decided it was time to level up and get a proper paddock stand. As a die-hard MotoGP fan, I’ve always admired how racing bikes look perched on those sleek stands, ready to go full throttle. There’s something emotional about it – a mix of aesthetics and aspiration. As usual, I checked online shopping. Scrolled, compared, rejected on various platforms. One was overpriced; another looked like it’d collapse anytime. Then I remembered LRL Motors. and I’ve always been impressed with their service. I’m sure it will last multiple GenerationsI’ve used the stand four times so far. Mounting the bike solo is still a bit challenging for me and takes a few tries, but I am getting better with practice.
