Vijayawada: Alipiri police in Tirupati arrested a 35-year-old man on charges of misbehaving with a 10-year-old girl here. Alipiri circle inspector Ramakishore said the accused was the girl’s neighbour. Recently, while his wife had gone to her relatives, he lured the minor by offering her money and misbehaved with her. The girl screamed and ran to escape from the man and informed her parents about the incident. Following this, the girl’s parents filed a complaint with the police. Acting on the plaint, the cops registered a case against the man under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act. The inspector said that the accused was sent to remand. Further investigation is underway.TNN
