National Science Day to be celebrated at Gachibowli Stadium on February 28


Hyderabad will be hosting an event on the occasion of National Science Day on February 28, at Gachibowli Stadium. The event is being jointly organised by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), the Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI), and the Kalam Institute of Youth Excellence.

A major highlight of the two-day celebration will be the Aerospace Exhibition, which is expected to attract over 20,000 students from across the country. The exhibition will feature around 200 stalls showcasing cutting-edge DRDO and defence aerospace products. Designed to ignite curiosity and inspire innovation, the exhibition will provide young minds with a unique opportunity to witness firsthand the technological advancements driving India’s progress in defence and aerospace. It aims to encourage students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) while demonstrating India’s growing capabilities in indigenous defence and aerospace technology, said a release.

Several scientific and technological institutions, including the Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL), Research Centre Imarat (RCI), Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI), Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), and Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL), will participate in the event. Academic institutions such as the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad) and the International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad (IIIT Hyderabad), along with various industries, will also be represented.
