Oil cos hold ‘Saksham’ to promote fuel conservation

Hyderabad: At a time when India has been positioned as the third largest consumer of petroleum products globally, conservation of petroleum has become crucial to meet the demand. To ensure this, the oil industry is spearheading a campaign, Saksham 2024-25.
The campaign which commenced on Feb 14 covered several activities such as training programmes, group talks, quizzes, debates, technical workshops, concerts, talent shows, walkathons, fuel-efficient cooking contests, etc to promote oil conservation.
On Feb 23, a cyclothon was conducted in 200 cities of India out of which HPCL conducted the programme in three cities of Telangana — Hyderabad, Nizamabad and Warangal.
At the Hyderabad programme, 75 participants covered a 5 km distance from the Narsingi Cycling Hub. Before the start of the programme Rajappa, CGM, HPCL administered the Saksham pledge to all the participants while Ashish Pandey administered the pledge in Hindi. Ravindra Kumar, DGM-SLC, HPCL explained to the participants the objective of Saksham. K Kalyani, chief manager HR briefed all participants about the rules and ensured the programme went off smoothly.
