Special buses will be operated by the Visakhapatnam Region of APSRTC for the convenience of devotees visiting temples of Lord Siva and for those going for a dip at sea on the occasion of Mahasivarathri. The special buses will be available from the midnight of February 26 to February 27 evening.
The special buses will be operated from Gajuwaka, Kurmanapalem, and Aganampudi area to Appikonda. Similarly, special buses will also be available from Tagarapuvalasa, Bhimili, Arilova, Ravindra Nagar, Pendurthi, Kothavalasa, Simhachalam, Gajuwaka and Kurmannapalem to RK Beach, according to District Public Transportation Officer B. Appalanaidu.
The special buses would be operated based on the demand from passengers. He called upon devotees to make use of the special bus services.
Mr. Appalanaidu held a meeting with officials, traffic supervisors, garage supervisors, staff and sanitation workers at Waltair Depot and directed them to ensure that the special buses were maintained well to prevent breakdowns midway.
Deputy Chief Mechanical Engineer K. Rajasekhar, Waltair Depot Manager K. Sudhakar, Assistant Traffic Managers PBMK Raju and Chief Security Inspector Ch. Mohan Rao were among those who attended the meeting.
