Vijayawada: A couple running a grocery store in Penamaluru, Krishna district, was attacked by three youths under the influence of ganja on Sunday night. The victims, Mothrapu Abraham and his wife Ratna Kumari, were severely injured and rushed to a govt hospital. According to inspector Venkataramana, the accused Venigalla Dharani (21) and Erra Abhishek (24) hailed from Penamaluru, and their 24-year-old accomplice was from Tadigadapa. The trio went to the victims’ store to buy cigarettes. Abraham, who was already attending to some customers, asked them to wait. Aggravated at this, the youths attacked him and his wife with sticks, beer bottles and bricks. Following the injured couple’s plaint, police registered a case and started investigation.TNN
