Hyderabad: A 60-year-old woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances on Monday at Marpally in Vikarabad district. Police are investigating the case, considering two possibilities: suicide or murder. The woman’s body was discovered in a well located within her residence on Feb 23 night.
The woman, who lived alone, had lost her husband during the Covid-19 pandemic, and her two daughters reside in their respective in-laws’ homes. Concerned after not seeing her for a while, neighbours went to check on her. After knocking repeatedly on the door with no response, they suspected that she might be in the well.
“Nearby, her footwear was found. They used a stick to probe the well, and as suspected, they found her body inside. A man was sent down to retrieve the body,” said Vikarabad police.
