The speeding tipper collided head on with a car coming from the opposite direction, crushing the driver before ramming into a two-wheeler.
One person was killed and another injured after a speeding tipper crashed into a car and a two-wheeler before coming to a halt at Dundigal on Sunday morning.
Police are actively working to trace the absconding tipper driver.
The victim has been identified as Dunnala Naga Vamshi, a 22-year-old private employee and resident of Dulapally, who was driving the car. Chitturi Venkata Surendra, a 32-year-old private employee from Bachupally, was injured in the accident and is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
The mishap occurred around 6.45 a.m. near the Snake Park junction in Bowrampet. According to Dundigal Inspector P. Sateesh, the tipper, bearing number TS 08 UL 3967, collided head on with the car coming from the opposite direction, crushing the driver and then ramming a two-wheeler.
“The tipper driver lost control of the vehicle. Following the crash, he left the vehicle and fled the spot,” police said.
Later, police reached the spot and seized the tipper. A case was booked and further probe is on.
