Visakhapatnam: A 55-year-old man was murdered at Venkojipalam locality under MVP police station limits in Visakhapatnam city on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Ramachandra Rao, also known as Anand. He was a resident of Ramnagar locality here in the city.
Preliminary investigation had revealed that Ramachandra was an alcoholic. He was receiving treatment for mental illness in the city. On Sunday, he had visited govt hospital for treatment but did not return home.
On Monday night, he was found dead, with his head smashed with a boulder. Police said the murder was the result of an argument over a petty issue.
The cops registered a case and then, started investigation in order to nab the accused, who is reportedly a resident of the Seethammadhara locality.
