Hyderabad: Miltenyi Biotec, a global leader in cell and gene therapy (CGT) solutions, has launched India’s first dedicated Cell & Gene Therapy Center of Excellence (CoE) in Hyderabad. Located in Genome Valley, the newly established Miltenyi Innovation and Technology Center (MITC) aims to support research and development in advanced biotechnology, including cancer treatment.
The 1,800 sqm facility is designed to assist scientists and medical professionals by providing access to cutting-edge equipment, training, and collaboration opportunities. It features a showroom with MACS® instruments, a CliniMACS Prodigy® platform for therapy development, and designated spaces for seminars and workshops on immunology, stem cell biology, and other specialized fields.
Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary of Telangana’s IT and Industries Department, underscored the center’s potential impact: “This collaboration will strengthen our healthcare ecosystem and pave the way for advancements in cell and gene therapies. It will also create new opportunities for employment and investment in Telangana.”
Dr. Boris Stoffel, Chief Commercial Officer at Miltenyi Biotec, emphasized the center’s role in driving research: “MITC will accelerate biomedical research, enabling scientists and physicians to develop new therapies for diseases with limited treatment options.”
The center is expected to foster collaboration among researchers, medical professionals, and industry leaders, contributing to the development of innovative treatments for serious diseases.
