School staffer gets 20-yrs RI for raping minor


Hyderabad: A junior staff at an international school under the Chaitanyapuri police limits was sentenced to 20 years rigorous imprisonment, along with a fine of Rs.25,000, for raping a Class 5 students in 2022.

The accused V. Sudhakar, 39, was working as an office boy in the school.

According to the case details, Sudhakar, who had entry and exit permit at the school, lured the minor girl to play with him and then raped her on the school premises. He had also threatened her. Once the parents found out, they filed a police case.

The accused on Tuesday was found guilty by the Fast Track Court Special Judge, Rangareddy district. The judge ordered a compensation of Rs.8 lakh to the victim.

Man booked for serial abuse of friend’s 12-yr-old daughter

Hyderabad: The Madhuranagar police filed a ‘zero FIR’ against a 30-yaer-old man for reportedly sexually assaulting his friend’s daughter. The case came into light after the victim’s mother noticed the change in the girl’s behaviour, at her native place.

The victim’s mother came to her sister’s house in the city and filed a written complaint against the accused, Madhuranagar police said. The case files were transferred to the district police for further investigation.

The accused went to the victim’s house in June last year, found her alone and tried to rape her, the victim’s mother stated in her complaint. Later, whenever her parents were away, the accused used to assault the victim and threaten her with dire consequences if she revealed the matter to anyone. The victim went into trauma and had stopped talking to her friends and parents.

Despite the victim’s mother questioning her several times, did not reveal anything. A couple of days back, however, victim the broke down and narrated her ordeal to her mother. She informed the victim’s father who reportedly did not take the matter seriously. That is when she came to the city and lodged a complaint.

Man nabbed for selling duplicate oil

Hyderabad: The central zone task force on Tuesday raided GS Sons Petro Products in Afzalgunj arrested a man for selling duplicate hydraulic engine oil and seized 434 litres of the oil worth Rs.45,000. The task force later seized the establishment after arresting Waseem Khan who had packed the oil in the name of a famous brand, said task force DCP Y.V. S Sudheendra. Waseem revealed that he procured duplicate engine oil through an agent in Mumbai.

Cop sustains minor injuries on ORR exit 3

Hyderabad: Four City Armed Reserve (CAR) cops from the Cyberabad police sustained minor injuries in an accident on the ORR Exit 3 in Patancheru on Tuesday. Patancheru inspector Vinayak Reddy said they were were heading towards the Sangareddy jail with four convicts after a regular check up at the Indian Mental Health Institute.

A tyre burst caused the vehicle to lose control and overturn. The cops were shifted to a hospital in the city. Their condition is stable. All the convicts have been sent back to jail.

A case was registered with the Patancheru police and further investigation into the incident is underway.

Office boy found murdered

Hyderabad: One Bhanu Prakash, an office boy at a firm in Madhapur, was found murdered in a residential locality in Allapur on Tuesday. Allapur inspector Venkat Reddy said the accused were identified as Rakesh, Rajesh, Rahul and Shiva Kumar and had a financial dispute with the victim. Prakash used to accompany Rakesh to court regularly, where he was facing two cases and had stood surety. During a drinking bout on Monday night, Prakash demanded the money back, and was fatally attacked. A case was registered and the body of the deceased was shifted to the Gandhi mortuary for postmortem examination.
