7 Bangladeshis held for illegal stay in Hyderabad


Hyderabad: Seven Bangladeshis, including a woman, who entered Indian territory from an over bridge near Nowdapara at North-24 Parganas district in West Bengal, and were staying here illegally were arrested by the city police in a late night operation on Tuesday.

Among them is the main transporter, Ajarul Shaik, who is familiar with the Indo-Bangla border and collected money for transporting the others.

“I and constables D. Satish, G. Kiran Kumar, K. Surender, Venu Gopal, Sai Kiran and Hima Rao, were conducting routine vehicle checks at the seven temple in Khairatabad. We intercepted two bikes with four people, who tried to escape. We chased and arrested them,” said M. Surender SI Khairatabad PS.

During interrogation they disclosed that their real names were Ajarul Shaik, 38, working as a labourer in the city; Rahul Shariful Shaikh Mohd Suman Ghazi, 26, a Rapido driver residing in Hafeezpet; Shakeel Hussain, 29, residing in Hafeezpet and native of Kazipara (V) and Ritay Islam, 24, residing in Alwal.

Police seized the two bikes with registration numbers TS-11-ER-6342 and TG-09-D 7445.

Police booked cases against them for migrating into India without any valid documentation and cheating the government, among several other charges, under section 318(2), 318(4) BNS & Sec. 14A(a)(b) & 14C of foreigners Act read with 3(5) BNS 417, 420 of IPC. They were produced them before the court for judicial remand

It is reported that the state intelligence agencies will be taking the illegal migrants into police custody for further investigation.

Ajarul Shaik forged Aadhaar and PAN cards of his associates, S. Rajashekhar SGO Khairatabad told Deccan Chronicle, adding that Shaik collected between Rs.25, 000 and Rs.40, 000 towards charges for forging cards and documents.

During questioning, the migrants said that they had come to India for a better livelihood.
