Vijayawada: In a major step towards promoting cleanliness and hygiene in the hospitality sector, the state govt has introduced the Green Leaf Rating System for hotels, lodges, and other accommodations. The initiative aims to encourage establishments to uphold the highest sanitation standards, benefiting both tourists and the environment.
Under this system, hotels, lodges, homestays, and Dharma Satras will be evaluated based on c. A district-level committee, led by the Collector, will oversee the rating process, with support from the Rural Water Supply Department and Tourism officials. Additionally, verification sub-committees at the division level will ensure accurate assessments.
To facilitate the rollout, officials will map hospitality establishments using the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Grameen) website and conduct awareness programs for hotel owners. Special training workshops will also be held at the district level.
