Hyderabad: A tahsildar in Nalgonda district has been suspended by the district administration for not reporting to work despite instructions.
Gurrampode tahsildar G Kiran Kumar had applied for leave from Jan 6-16, and it was approved by the collector. However, he did not report for work and instead extended his leave up to Jan 31 without permission. He once again extended his leave from February 1-28, which was not sanctioned by the authorities.
As several govt programmes were due for launch and the MLC elections were also announced, he was asked to report for work. As he did not respond, he was issued a show cause notice. As he still did not join duties, Nalgonda district collector Ila Tripathi suspended him on Tuesday (Feb 25).
