The South Korean automaker recently unveiled three new electric UV concepts – the Kia EV2, the Kia EV4 and PV 5 – at ‘2025 Kia EV Day’ in Tarragona, Spain. The Kia EV 2 previews the brand’s new B-segment SUV, while the EV4 is its first pure electric sedan and hatchback models. The Kia PV5 is a modular electric van with futuristic design and a front-mounted 161bhp electric motor. All three EV concepts are designed on the Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) architecture, with the PV5 being the first dedicated PBV model.
Design Details:
Talking about the Kia EV2, the concept shows Kia’s new global entry-level electric car, featuring the brand’s ‘Opposites United’ design language. Upfront, it carries vertically positioned DRLs, Kia’s Star Map signature lighting with an open lamp design without cover glass, rugged bumper with thick plastic cladding and claw-shaped dual headlamps. This compact EV concept has the sporty square spokes, alloy wheels, while misses out on the pillars and door handles. At the back, it features T-shaped taillamps and a small roof spoiler.

Interior & Features:
Despite its compact dimensions, the Kia EV2 is claimed to offer “an expandable space with a folding second-row seat”. Interestingly, Kia’s message lighting allows passengers to display text messages via the vehicle’s windows to communicate with pedestrians and other road users. The concept also features unique LED animations on the dashboard and windows. There are triangular speakers mounted in the door trim, which are removable and portable. Kia has confirmed that the EV2 concept has vehicle-to-load (V2L) charging functionalities, OTA (over-the-air) updates, and a panoramic sunroof.
Battery & Range:
Kia hasn’t revealed the specifications of the EV2 concept. However, it’s reported to be offered with the 58.3kWh or 81.4kWh battery pack options, borrowed from the EV3. The former delivers a range of up to 434km, while the latter promises up to 603km. Kia might also use a 43.3kWh LFP battery pack from the PV5 electric van.

Is It Coming To India?
As of now, Kia has no plan to bring in the EV2 in India. However, the South Korean automaker trademarked eight new EVs in India in 2023, ranging from the EV1 to the EV9. The Kia EV9 has already been launched in India as the brand’s flagship EV, and the Kia EV2 might also make its way in the future. Based on what we know so far, Kia India is likely to introduce the electric iteration of the Carens compact MPV, Sonet and Syros subcompact SUVs.
