Hyderabad: Union minister and Telangana BJP chief G Kishan Reddy on Thursday asked chief minister A Revanth Reddy to prove his claim that he (Kishan) was obstructing projects proposed by state govt for Telangana.
“CM lacks clarity on how to secure funds for the Metro project. They recently sent the project to the central govt, which needs to be circulated among all ministries. It doesn’t just happen by sending it. There is a system in place. Speaking recklessly without understanding at the level of a CM is inappropriate,” Kishan Reddy told media.
He continued, “Did CM Revanth ask us while making promises before coming to power? Did he say he would only undertake development projects if Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP govt provided funds? How justified is it for states to engage in such blackmail politics? It has become a habit to claim things that aren’t true: I am consistently engaging with various departments and writing letters to ensure development projects are carried out.”
The state BJP chief said that no one was intimidated by such scare tactics.
“No one believes Revanth Reddy’s words. People have understood the empty promises he made during the assembly elections. I did not come to Parliament by the grace of Revanth or Congress party. I am accountable only to the people of Telangana. I am not responsible for Revanth’s statements. If he has any courage or conviction, I challenge him to prove that I have obstructed even a single project,” he said.
