With each passing month, the Indian automobile industry has been witnessing major events, right from Honda-Nissan merger talks to Tesla’s arrival. The constant shift towards EVs (electric vehicles) is also one of the major changes taking place in the market. March 2025 will be an action-packed month as multiple new products are set to hit roads including Maruti Suzuki’s first EV, MG’s first pure electric two-door convertible Cyberster sportscar, Harrier EV and the updated Kia EV6. Here’s a brief overview on these upcoming cars:
Maruti and Vitara

Maruti e Vitara has started reaching dealerships ahead of its official market launch. It will be Maruti Suzuki’s answer to the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6 and MG ZS EV. This electric SUV has been designed on a skateboard platform co-developed with Toyota. The carmaker has confirmed that the and vitara will be offered with the 49kWh and 61kWh battery pack options, using LFP (lithium iron phosphate) blade cells sourced from BYD. Both batteries are paired with the front axle mounted motors, and deliver claimed power of 143bhp and 173bhp, respectively. The torque output for both setups are 192.5Nm. Maruti Suzuki has revealed that the e Vitara offers an MIDC-rated range of over 500km in its top-spec version.
MG Cyberster

JSW MG Motor India will inaugurate its new ‘MG Select’ premium dealership network with the launch of Cyberster electric sportscar. It will also be the most affordable sportscar in the country. In India, the carmaker will introduce the Cyberster with a 77kWh battery pack and two oil-cooled electric motors fitted on each axle, coupled with an AWD system. This setup offers a massive power of 510bhp and 725Nm of torque. It does 0 to 100kmph in 3.2 seconds, and returns a claimed range of 580km on a full charge (CLTC cycle). Attributes such as a 50:50 front and rear weight distribution, front double wishbone and rear five-link independent suspension enhance its overall performance. MG might also bring in the Cyberster RWD at a later stage.
Tata Harrier EV

Tata Harrier EV will be the next major product launch from the indigenous automaker, which is likely to arrive in March 2025. However, its official launch date is yet to be announced. We have seen the Harrier EV in its production-ready form at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show in January. This electric SUV is built on Tata’s Gen 2 Acti.ev architecture and claimed to offer a maximum torque of 500Nm. However, its battery pack details, range and specifications are yet to be revealed. The Tata Harrier EV comes equipped with features such as a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, V2L and V2V charging capabilities, connected car tech, ADAS, new terrain modes and several advanced features.
Kia EV6 Facelift

The updated Kia EV6, showcased at this year’s Auto Expo, is all set to hit showrooms in March. Bookings for the EV are already underway nationwide. Similar to the existing model, the facelifted EV6 will be based on the E-GMP platform and come via CBU route in India. The major change will come in the form of a larger 84kWh battery pack with two electric motors, delivering a combined power of 325bhp and 605Nm of torque. This electric crossover offers a claimed range of over 650km on a single charge. Kia says that the 2025 EV6 can be charged via a 350kW fast charger from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes.
