Dr. Sumanth Reddy, who had been battling for his life for eight days following a brutal attack, passed away on Friday midnight at MGM Hospital in Warangal.
The attack on Dr. Reddy was allegedly orchestrated by his wife, Flora, who conspired with her lover, Samel, to have him killed. Flora had been having an extramarital affair with Samel, whom she met at a gym. The two reportedly planned to eliminate Dr. Reddy so they could be together.
The assailants, who blocked Dr. Reddy’s car on a main road in Warangal and attacked him with iron rods, were aided by a police constable. Dr. Reddy sustained severe injuries in the attack and fought for his life for eight days before succumbing to his injuries.
The police are investigating the involvement of Flora, Samel, and the constable in the crime.
