Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday directed officials to expedite land acquisition for the development of Mamnoor Airport in Warangal district and suggested that it should be developed on the lines of Kochi Airport (Cochin International Airport, Kerala).
“Take steps to complete the land acquisition and send it for designing as soon as possible. The airport should be designed and developed in such a way that there are other activities along with flight arrivals and departures, and that the airport construction should be an asset for Warangal city,” he said.
Officials explained details regarding Mamnoor Airport to the chief minister after he inquired about airport land acquisition and pending works from the officials. “Conduct regular reviews and provide me with a progress report every month,” he told the officials.
Congress MPs and MLAs from the combined Warangal district met the CM on Saturday and congratulated him for getting approval for the development of Mamnoor airport. Warangal MP Kavya, Mahabubabad MP Balram Naik, MLAs Kadiyam Srihari, Nayini Rajender Reddy, Revuri Prakash Reddy, among others, were present.
