Vijayawada: A tragic road accident claimed the life of an MBBS student near Jupudi in Ibrahimpatnam. The incident occurred when two MBBS students were travelling on a two-wheeler and met with a fatal crash.
According to police, Syed Taj Afsa (20) and her senior Mehreen (21) were staying at a private hostel and pursuing MBBS third and final year respectively at a private medical college. On Saturday morning, while the duo were on their way to college, a speeding SUV coming from Hyderabad towards Vijayawada hit them while the duo were taking a U-turn.
Afsa died on the spot, while the other sustained severe injuries and is in critical condition. Upon receiving the information, police rushed to the accident site.
Police registered a case and are investigating.
