Telangana tunnel collapse LIVE updates: Rescue teams focus on areas zeroed in on by NGRI GPR unit; ambulances line up

Rescue teams are now scouting the areas zeroed in on by the NGRI’s Ground Probing Radar, which have found an anomaly on the surface inside the collapsed SLBC tunnel in Domalapenta in Nagarkurnool district on Saturday (March 1, 2025).

However, the arrangements being made at the tunnel site such lining up ambulances (at nearby Domalapenta village) and instructions issued to a team of forensic experts (doctors) from Hyderabad to reach the tunnel site at the earliest clearly indicate that the chances of rescue teams tracing the 8 trapped persons by evening is high.

The measures also make it amply clear that the rescue teams have given up hopes on the chances of survival of those trapped inside from February 22 morning. After the GPR scanning found some soft material under the debris, the rescue teams were said to be of the view that it could be the bodies of the trapped persons.

On the eighth day of the rescue operations by multiple agencies, the teams are now trying to dewater the exact location and remove the silt. Rat miners have been pressed into service to work on the specific location identified by the GPR equipment.
